HEALTH, SAFETY & NUTRITION
Health & Safety Come First

At Storytime Child Care, the health and safety of every child is a top priority. Our daily practices are designed to support a clean, secure, and well-supervised environment where children can learn, play, and grow with confidence.
Daily Health & Safety

Practices

Our program follows established procedures for supervision, handwashing, cleaning and sanitizing, illness prevention, medication administration, emergency preparedness, safe arrival and departure, and child accountability throughout the day.

Allergies & Special Dietary Needs

Families should inform Storytime Child Care of any food allergies, medical dietary restrictions, or special nutrition needs. Appropriate documentation may be required so that we can safely support each child’s individual needs.
lllness & When Children Should Stay Home

To help protect all children and staff, families are expected to follow Storytime’s illness and exclusion policies. Children who are ill or showing symptoms that require exclusion from care may need to remain at home until they meet the program’s return-to-care requirements.
Partnering With Families

Open communication with families is an important part of maintaining a healthy and safe child care environment. Parents and guardians are encouraged to share health information, updates, and concerns that may affect their child’s care.

Nutritious Meals & Snacks

Storytime Child Care participates in a USDA/TDA-approved meal program and provides nutritious meals and snacks based on each child’s schedule and hours in care. Menus are planned to support healthy growth and development while meeting applicable meal-pattern requirements.
